Everyone is Irish in Savannah on March 17th! Don't miss the 2017 Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade that attracts thousands of people to the Historic District along the waterfront. And it's easy to experience the thrill of this annual tradition when you stay at our hotel. Just step out of our lobby and into the St. Patrick's Day festivities that fill the streets. Just don't forget to wear green!
Although the main focus might be Irish heritage, all local cultures are represented at this family-friendly event. Locals line the streets to watch marching bands, military personnel, politicians, and organizations on the parade route. Cheer on costumed performers and beautiful floats as you chant "Erin Go Bragh!"
The route starts at the intersection of Abercorn Street and Gwinnett Street, about a 1.5 miles from our hotel. But you don't have to go far to be a spectator when you book a room in the Historic District. The parade eventually winds its way through the city along Bay Street a few blocks from our hotel. If you want an up-close look, you can get tickets for $30 to sit in the bleachers.
The fun kicks off at 10:15 am sharp on March 17th. The parade will take place rain or shine, so be prepared by dressing in layers and bringing an umbrella if the forecast calls for cloudy skies. After the last band marches by, head back to your hotel room to take a break before your next Savannah adventure.
