What better way to spend time together than sharing a good-natured fright or two? That's exactly what you'll find as we approach Halloween in Savannah - tons of family-friendly ways to celebrate the spooky spirit of the season. From hair-raising classical concerts and creepy history lessons, to costumed pet parades and trick-or-treating in the wild, there's a monstrous selection of festive things to do everywhere you turn all month. Here are a few of our favorites, just minutes from our downtown Historic District hotel:


A Classical Halloween

October 16th, 7:30pm

Lucas Theatre for the Arts

32 Abercorn Street
Scare up some culture at this special concert from Savannah Philharmonic, guaranteed to make your skin crawl in the very best way. Notable compositions include Hermann's Psycho Suite, and the Harry Potter Symphonic Suite by John Williams. Tickets range $16-$75.


Stranger Than Fiction: An Exploration of the Extraordinary in Old Savannah

October Fridays & Saturdays, 7:30pm

Davenport House Museum

When Savannah's first historically preserved structure was built in 1820, life was very different. This 90-minute candlelit tour explores some of the oddest, most mystifying beliefs of the time, from transmutation and animal magnetism, to the existence of Frankenstein.


Halloween Hike

October 23rd & 24th, 5-8pm

Oatland Island Wildlife Center

711 Sandtown Road

Aimed at the younger crowd, kids explore nature and collect treats from creatures along the way on this short seasonal trek. Mother goose will be telling nursery rhymes, with face painting, crafts, and pony rides as well.



October 24th, 12 Noon

447 Bull Street

Take advantage of our pet-friendly rooms, dress-up your pup in their favorite costume, and hit the town, as 100+ local businesses open their doors to furry friends with all sorts of special treats.
